Six months ago I had the honor to attend a friends wedding. My husband was the best man, so I guess I had to go. It was the middle of the pandemic, but that couldn’t stop true love from uniting in holy matrimony.
It was a small affair, yet it was honestly the most intimate and lovely wedding I’ve ever been to. The groom charged me with capturing all of that in a painting. I guess you could say this is my first commission.
I began with the couples different nationalities: He's British, She's Indian. Bringing the two together was my inspiration. All of that was wrapped in the chaos of the Covid pandemic, the time period in which these two ended up coming together to start their life as a married couple. With all the doom and gloom which surrounded these months, it was inspiring to work on something that represented defiance in the face of adversity.
I'm very excited to finally gift this lovely piece to them. After my husband makes a frame, it will finally be ready to be unveiled. I can't wait!
